Dr. Williams was born and raised on the North Shore. She attended Simon Fraser University and studied Kinesiology. She obtained her Bachlor of Applied Science in Kinesiology. During her years at Simon Fraser and into her early medical training she was a wrestler. She was a member of the Canadian National Wrestling team for 7 years, competing on the world stage. She retired from wrestling upon entry into her 3rd year of medicine.

She attended medical school at the University of British Columbia, completing her degree in 2006. She then studied Orthopedic Surgery at UBC and completed her training in 2011. The following year, Dr. Williams pursued additional fellowship training in Upper Extremity Surgery and Trauma at Lion’s Gate Hospital under the supervision of Dr. Charles Preston. This was followed with a second fellowship in Arthroscopy and Sports medicine in Sydney, Australia through Westmead Hospital. Her fellowships were completed with a trauma fellowship at the Royal Columbian Hospital.

She started her career working in long term locums at Richmond Hospital in the area of Sports Medicine and Trauma surgery. This was followed by her permanent position at Lion’s Gate Hospital. Her orthopaedic interests include sports medicine, arthroscopic shoulder and knee reconstructive surgery and shoulder arthroplasty.

In addition to a busy orthopaedic practice, Dr. Williams has been affiliated with the UBC Department of Orthopaedics as a Clinical Instructor. She continues to teach medical students and orthopedic residents. She is a member and Fellow with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeon of Canada. She also holds memberships in the Canadian Orthopedic Association and Orthopedic Trauma Association.
